Standing Barbell Curl Instructions

  1. Grasp a barbell or EZ bar with an underhand grip and stand with your feet around shoulder-width apart. This is the starting position for the exercise.
  2. Bending at the elbows, slowly curl the weight up as far as possible.
  3. Squeeze the biceps, and then slowly lower the weight back to the starting position. This is one rep.
  4. Repeat for desired reps.

Standing Barbell Curl Tips

  • Keep your elbows at your sides throughout the movement and only move your forearms.
  • Keep the movement slow and controlled. Do not swing the weight.
